Mothers’ Day Out

Cricket : Mahendra Singh Dhoni,who is the captain on Indian cricket led the team to wear the name of their mothers, during the 5th One Day International against New Zealand, on their individual jerseys in a gesture to appreciate the sacrifices led by their mothers.Mothers' Day Out: MS Dhoni And Co. MS Dhoni-led Indian team on Saturday wore a different look for the ODI series decider match against New Zealand in Vishakhapatnam,Andhra Pradesh. In place of surnames, the cricketers’ jerseys was beared the name of their mothers.This initiative was taken to salute the sacrifice all mothers have done over the years to give her child a prosperous future

 Before the toss the commentators asked the captain about their jersey names Ms Dhoni whose jersey named Devaki replied “It’s an initiative to appreciate the contribution of the mothers. If you ask me, it was always about how emotionally connected I was to my mom. It’s not like the dads are not there, they’re there, but just that we often don’t appreciate mothers role in a way we should do,”
